(Okay, with food, I have a little advantage – given that I know how to throw together a good meal. I cooked for the Guinness family for 3 years at a beautiful yet homely manor house in England. And then I was a chef at the wonderful (now) Boardwalk Bistro in Noosa for about a year and a half. I know about garnishing, and food styling, etc. And I love photographing food that’s prepared well … plus documenting the atmosphere in which people enjoy it!)
A shoot can be split up on the day – an hour in the early afternoon to do the food shots, and then an hour during busy service time, to capture the atmosphere of a place.
